Ellesmere Port & Neston Borough Council have recently achieved GREEN FLAG AWARD status for Stanney Fields Park in Neston, one of the four parks included in the Parks for People partnership.

This partnership of the Council with Groundwork Wirral led the overhaul of four strategic parks and play areas in some of the borough’s most deprived wards.

The project set out to create play areas with real value and also provide recreation for older children and teenagers. It aimed to make the parks secure, safe spaces. Inclusive design has made them accessible places for disable people.

Stanney Fields Park is the first of these four parks to be entered for this award status.
